BeGlobal HQ, Inc. (“BeGlobal,” “we,” or “us”) cares about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the rights you have. It applies to our website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Services”).

We act as a data controller for engineer and client contact information collected through the Services, and as a data processor when we host client-provided briefs or feedback under a separate agreement.

1. Information we collect

1.1 From engineers applying to the network

• Name, email, phone, country, city, timezone, languages, English proficiency.
• Resume / CV, LinkedIn URL, GitHub URL, portfolio URLs, public-profile photo.
• Self-reported skills, seniority, expected compensation, role preferences.
• Live video assessment recording and transcript (recorded with consent at the start of each session).
• AI-generated technical scores and summaries derived from the above.

1.2 From clients hiring through us

• Name, work email, company name, role title, funding stage.
• Hiring brief contents (role description, stack, timezone, rate).
• Feedback you provide on shortlisted engineers.
• Billing information (handled by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers).

1.3 Automatically collected

• Device, browser, IP address, approximate location, pages visited, referring URL.
• Analytics events: e.g. PostHog for product analytics.
• Cookies and similar technologies, see our Cookie Policy for details and choices.

2. How we use information

• To provide the Services, matching engineers with client briefs, presenting shortlists, scheduling interviews, processing placement fees.
• To improve the Services, measuring funnel performance, tuning the vetting model, debugging.
• To communicate, sending shortlists, status updates, invoices, and product announcements.
• To comply with law, responding to lawful requests, enforcing our terms, preventing fraud.
• For aggregated insights, publishing non-identifying market data (salary benchmarks, regional supply trends).

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Legal bases (EEA / UK / Brazil users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Brazil (LGPD), we rely on the following legal bases:

• Contract, to provide the Services you requested.
• Legitimate interests, to operate, secure, and improve the Services and to communicate with clients about hiring.
• Consent, for marketing cookies, the video assessment recording, and any optional emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Legal obligation, to satisfy tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.

4. Sharing your information

We share personal information only in these limited circumstances:

• With clients, when you opt in to be presented as part of a shortlist. Clients receive a curated profile, not your raw application.
• With service providers acting under written contracts that restrict their use of the data. These include hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel), email (Resend), analytics (PostHog), authentication, video conferencing, and compliance partners (e.g., Deel, JumpStart Immigration) when you elect to engage them.
• With professional advisors, auditors, lawyers, and insurers under confidentiality obligations.
• In a corporate transaction, if BeGlobal is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction.
• When required by law, to comply with valid legal process or to protect rights, safety, and property.

5. International transfers

BeGlobal is based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the U.S., the E.U., Brazil, and other regions. Where personal information is transferred out of the EEA, UK, or Brazil, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to safeguard it.

6. Data retention

• Engineer profiles, kept while you remain an active applicant. If you ask us to remove your profile, we delete personal identifiers within 30 days and retain only the minimum needed for legal, tax, or dispute purposes (up to 7 years).
• Client briefs and feedback, kept for the duration of the relationship plus 3 years.
• Analytics, generally up to 24 months in identifiable form.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including GDPR, UK GDPR, LGPD, CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent.
• Receive your information in a portable format.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive fields, role-based access controls, and regular security review. No system is 100% secure; if we suspect a breach that affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.

9. Children

The Services are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have, we will delete it.

10. Region-specific disclosures

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

In the previous twelve months we collected the categories of personal information described in Section 1 for the purposes described in Section 2, and disclosed them only to the recipients described in Section 4. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may exercise the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information by emailing [email protected].

Brazil residents (LGPD)

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The updated version takes effect when posted with a new effective date. Material changes will be notified by email or via a prominent notice on the Site.
